In an effort to foster gender diversity and empower women in the fields of innovation and technology, the European Innovation Council (EIC) has collaborated with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) to unveil the Women Leadership Programme (WLP). This initiative is a skills enhancement and networking platform tailored for women researchers and entrepreneurs within the EIC and EIT communities.
The programme, which has gained significant traction since its inception, provides a unique blend of virtual and in-person training sessions led by seasoned professionals who challenge participants to redefine their leadership approaches. The WLP not only offers insightful case studies but also employs participatory methods to ensure active engagement. Furthermore, the programme incorporates individual coaching and personal mentoring, creating an inclusive environment for skill development and networking.
Eligibility Criteria
The WLP is open to female co-founders, managers, CEOs, CTOs, CFOs, COOs, CCOs, and EIC female researchers aspiring to lead their research projects into successful businesses. The 4th WLP cohort, scheduled to commence in February 2024, focuses specifically on female entrepreneurs, with two additional cohorts planned for researchers and entrepreneurs later in the year. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply through open calls on the EIC Community Platform.
Programme Highlights
Participants in the Women Leadership Programme will experience a comprehensive curriculum tailored to their specific needs. The programme includes:
- Training Sessions: Interactive sessions will be conducted by industry experts, covering essential topics such as negotiation, pitching, leadership styles, marketing, and public speaking. The hands-on exercises and case studies enable participants to apply their leadership skills effectively.
- Networking Events: Dedicated events throughout the programme enhance participants’ visibility within the European innovation ecosystem. Keynote speakers provide testimonials and facilitate networking opportunities. The programme also encourages the exchange of experiences among participants and offers speed-dating activities with mentors.
- Personal Mentoring and Business Coaching: Participants receive support from a diverse range of mentors, including experienced CEOs, investors, and entrepreneurs. The mentorship will address specific career challenges faced by the participants. Additionally, participants work with expert EIC business coaches to navigate business-related goals and challenges.
