The Mary Robinson Climate Conference 2024, held from June 5-7 in Ballina, Co. Mayo, Ireland, marked a significant convergence of experts, policymakers, activists, communities, and innovators. The conference was delivered in partnership with the University of Galway and received support from SSE Renewables, IPB Insurance, EPA, Fáilte Ireland, Astraea, and Mayo County Council. This unique event provided a dynamic platform for sharing climate experiences and discussing sustainable pathways in an engaging and relaxed environment.
A standout moment of the conference was the participation of the FLIARA Project in the Keynote Speakers Session. Associate Professor Maura Farrell, Project Coordinator for FLIARA, delivered an insightful keynote address on “Women in Agriculture: Sustainability and Innovation.” Her presentation underscored the vital role women play in advancing sustainable agricultural practices and fostering innovation within the sector.
The Mary Robinson Climate Conference is renowned for its inclusive approach, recognising the multifaceted nature of climate change and the necessity for a collective response.
