On October 3rd, 2024, the FLIARA project had the privilege of welcoming a delegation from the Agricultural Advisory Centre in Brwinów, Poland, to Ljubljana, Slovenia. The visit, organised by the Centre’s Krakow branch, brought together a group of agricultural and rural women eager to explore innovative practices that are transforming rural areas across Slovenia.
Hosted by Dr. Barbara Lampič, a distinguished member of the FLIARA project at the University of Ljubljana, the Polish delegation engaged in insightful discussions and exchanged knowledge on sustainable rural development. The visit highlighted the impact of FLIARA’s work in identifying and supporting female-led innovations in rural and farming communities across Central and Eastern Europe. The delegation was particularly interested in the project’s case studies and the diverse practices of FLIARA Ambassadors, who are championing sustainability initiatives in the region.

The enthusiasm from the Polish visitors was palpable, as they learnt about the inspiring women who are at the forefront of rural transformation in Slovenia. The exchange of ideas and experiences not only fostered stronger ties between the two countries but also underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration in advancing rural innovation.
This visit marks another landmark in FLIARA’s mission to connect and empower women across Europe who are leading change in rural areas. The engagement of partners from Poland with the Slovenian case studies is a testament to the growing impact of FLIARA’s efforts to promote sustainable development and gender equality in rural spaces.

As the FLIARA project continues to expand its network of innovation via our Community of Practice, it is clear that the collaboration between European countries like Poland and Slovenia is key to fostering innovative solutions for rural challenges.
