On December 4, 2024, the FLIARA Project participated at the “Accelerating Innovation Through Women Leadership” event, a key satellite of the EIT Food Next Bite series. Representing Consulta Europa, team members Víctor Martínez and Silvia Pérez joined a powerful gathering of entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to advocate for the role of women in shaping the future of agrifood.
Empowering the Future of Agrifood
The event served as the grand celebration of the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) 2025 Programme. It highlighted the achievements of 13 visionary female founders and featured 15 groundbreaking startups specialising in biotech, regenerative agriculture, and circular food systems.
Against this backdrop of transformation, the FLIARA team engaged in high-impact networking sessions on the Empower Stage, a space dedicated to in-person collaboration and skill-building.

Showcasing the FLIARA Toolkit
A primary focus for Martínez and Pérez was the introduction of the FLIARA Toolkit to the European innovation community. This resource is designed specifically to support women in rural areas by providing the tools necessary to navigate the complexities of agricultural innovation. Throughout the day, the team:
- Connected with Innovators: Engaging directly with female founders to understand their unique challenges.
- Resource Sharing: Demonstrating the FLIARA platform and how it can be used to scale sustainable rural projects.
- Building Bridges: Linking European policy and investment opportunities with the grassroots creativity of women leaders.
Key Takeaways from Warsaw
The event underscored a growing movement in the agrifood sector where gender equity is seen as a primary driver for sustainable growth. By participating in these 1:1 networking opportunities and startup showcases, the FLIARA Project continues to strengthen the ecosystem for female-led innovation across Europe.
