Over the coming months, the FLIARA Project consortium is intensifying its engagement with key stakeholders, particularly policymakers, to advance the role of women in agriculture and rural entrepreneurship. As the research reaches a crucial phase, the consortium is eager to collaborate with those who share a commitment to fostering gender-inclusive innovation and sustainable rural development.
A Collective Effort for Meaningful Change
Since its inception, the Horizon Europe-funded FLIARA Project (Female-Led Innovation in Agriculture and Rural Areas) has been dedicated to identifying both the challenges and opportunities faced by women innovators in rural settings. Over the past two years, a consortium of 15 partners across 10 EU countries has undertaken extensive research, including a forward-looking analysis on future innovations and an in-depth study of 200 pioneering women leading transformative initiatives in their communities.
Through this comprehensive work, valuable insights have been gained into the barriers these women encounter, the policy landscapes across different nations, and the necessary measures to enhance support systems. Now, as findings are consolidated, the consortium aims to translate this knowledge into effective policies that will empower women to drive innovation in rural areas and agricultural sectors.
An Open Invitation to Policymakers
As the project moves forward, an open invitation is extended to policymakers at both national and EU levels to engage with the FLIARA Project. The objective is to ensure that the policies proposed are not only informed by rigorous research but are also actionable and impactful. The consortium seeks to:
- Share the key findings and policy recommendations emerging from case studies and futures analysis.
- Exchange perspectives with policymakers to align recommendations with existing frameworks and future strategies.
- Advocate for policies that provide tangible benefits to women entrepreneurs in rural areas and agriculture.
Join the Conversation
The FLIARA Project consortium believes that inclusive and forward-thinking policies can significantly enhance the role of women in shaping the future of rural economies. Policymakers, stakeholders, and advocates for gender equality and rural innovation are invited to connect with the project. Through collaboration, policies can be developed that not only support women-led initiatives but also contribute to resilient and thriving rural communities across Europe.
