European Research and Innovation project Fact Sheets

A knowledge resource detailing key aims and results of research and innovation projects related to gender equality, rural and agriculture innovation.

FLIARA reviewed a range of research and innovation projects funded by the European Commission to understand existing project results that FLIARA could learn from and build on. The fact sheets also provide an important resource for researchers, policymakers and wider stakeholders working on the topic of gender, rural and  innovation.

Fact sheets were grouped in relation to four important perspectives:

  • Gender perspective factsheets: Covering projects that addressed issues such as gender equality in research, science, innovation and entrepreneurship as well as specific topics such as digital and green skills and gender equality plans
  • Innovation perspective factsheets: In this set of factsheets the aims and results of projects are brought together that deal with the varied issues that come into play when rural and farm innovation is considered. The projects deal with technological aspects such as digitalisation to cultural, social and environmental perspectives, on innovation such as considering heritage, resilience and sustainable agriculture.
  • Sustainability perspective factsheets: The diverse topic of rural and agriculture sustainability led FLIARA to look at projects on themes including green growth, generational renewal, farm safety and spatial justice.
  • Governance perspective factsheets: Projects found here cover topics such as local decision-making processes, gender quotas and civic engagement.

A total of 31 projects were reviewed covering the four perspectives. Each fact sheet gives an overview of the project context, themes covered, overall aim and results, including a link to further information.
