Abstract
Combining work and family is one of the most salient obstacles for women innovators. Inadequate parental leave systems and stereotypical gender norms, particularly the notion that women have the main responsibility for childcare and household work hold women back. Policy should include adequate parental leave systems that are paid, flexible, and that encourage men and women to share childcare and household work on equal terms.
