The Findings section of the FLIARA project toolkit compiles key insights on women-led innovation in agriculture and rural areas, showcasing groundbreaking research, case studies, and practical tools that highlight women’s contributions to sustainable rural development.
The Innovation Cards and Vision Cards stimulate creative discussions around political, social, environmental, economic, and technological innovations, helping stakeholders envision a sustainable rural future. Innovator Interviews provide firsthand accounts of three Finnish women pioneering rural entrepreneurship through diverse and impactful initiatives.
A Knowledge and Research Review presents an overview of existing literature on women-led innovations, establishing what is currently known and identifying knowledge gaps. Complementing this, the Short Literature Review Grounding Data Analysis explores smart solutions in access to capital, environmental sustainability, climate action, and social innovation.
Empirical insights emerge from National Case Studies, which examine 100 women-led farming and rural innovations across multiple European countries. The Possibilities and Obstacles for Women to Innovate assessment highlights challenges and opportunities identified by stakeholders across 100 sustainability innovations. Additionally, the Measures to Increase Women’s Contribution to Sustainability Innovations outlines actionable steps to enhance women’s roles in rural and agricultural innovation.
Together, these findings provide a comprehensive foundation for understanding the transformative role of women in shaping resilient, sustainable rural futures.
