Co. Kildare, Ireland – March 6th, 2025 – The Agricultural Science Association (ASA) and Macra’s joint International Women’s Day lunch event, held at the Lawlor’s Hotel in Co.Kildare, Ireland, focusing on empowerment and progress in agriculture, saw a strong presence from the FLIARA project.
The event, held in support of Breast Cancer Ireland, drew a diverse audience to discuss the vital role of women in the agricultural sector. FLIARA, which spans 10 EU countries, was well-represented by key figures from its Irish network.
Notable attendees included FLIARA Innovators Alma Jordan of AgriKids and Teresa Roche of Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese, alongside FLIARA Irish Ambassador Ursula Kelly from Cormac Tagging. Anne Kinsella from Teagasc, a crucial FLIARA project partner, also joined the event, demonstrating the collaborative spirit of the initiative.
The event, which commenced at 11:00 a.m., featured addresses from ASA president Susan Maher and Macra president Elaine Houlihan, followed by keynote speakers and panel discussions focusing on “Bridging Gaps: Turning Challenges into Opportunities.”
